Clever Hands (Maini Dibace) project
in Romania is the JOY supported day care centre for disabled youngsters in Targu Mures, Central Transylvania.

The start of a miracle!
For some time the parents of many of the young people at the day care centre have been increasingly concerned about the future for their children.
These young people are now adults (16 years after we were first involved in their day care and support) and their carers are getting older and less able to look after them. We have been praying about sheltered accommodation for some time, and looking at the possibilities; which, with local bylaws, house prices, government taxes and lack of sympathy by authorities looked as though it would be beyond our means.
The crisis came just before Christmas as two of the carers died, leaving two young men without any support apart from the day care centre. One of those who died left her flat in her will to her Grandson, which was wonderful as it meant he wouldn't be left homeless: facing the probability of institutional life.
The Maini Dibace family took the young men into their homes, and then spent their spare time renovating and adapting the flat, and we were able to find spare funds to commit to paying 2 part time carers to cover afternoon and nights (these two young men are at the centre every morning)

East Africa Famine!
Thank you to all those who so generously gave donations towards the relief of the victims of the famine across eastern Africa. We were able to send £2,000 to TEARFUND - a Christian link missionary group who have teams in working to help those affected in South East Ethiopia, northern Kenya and Somalia where over 11 million people have been starving. Because of the generosity of you and many others like you, they have been able to help over 130,000 of the most vulnerable.
